Our footage is shot in stunning high definition with spectacular surround sound and stellar editing and cinematography. We also provide railfans, photographers, and videographers a unique opportunity to experience living railroad history at the photo charters we host throughout the year at various heritage railroads. [4K] Walkersville Southern Railroad
The Walkersville Southern Railroad operates on four miles of former Pennsylvania Railroad tracks from Walkersville, MD through the Monocacy River Valley towards Frederick. The all volunteer operation runs regularly on weekends from May to October plus specials. The railroad uses a variety of diesel switchers, with a number of GE 45-tonners and PRR 44 tonners. This tourist railroad has expanded operation considerably in the 30+ years active as a tourist railroad.

Seems that quality of a movie has been lost in video to digital conversion. Is there any chance to restore crispness? These a great scenes, and I feel that they may actually have live movie sound, which is rare but very cool. Otherwise, it is amazing dubbing. Nice work in reviewing and narration, wish for better images. I know the stuff from preservation, but not from experience in the era.

Which American is "York" 17 based upon?
It’s a modified design of Central Pacific Jupiter and Leviathan, based off the UP 119s blue prints.
@@DynamoProductions-trains so in a way, its similar to the replicas at the Promontory Summit NHS?
@@kristoffermangila It is based off the same blue prints, but with a number of cosmetic changes, and she burns oil. The engine is otherwise identical to the 119.

Percy isnt a steam engine, Percy is a frame with wheels and a mockup of a steam engine sitting on top. The Thomas shown is a real steam engine converted to resemble Thomas.

1:23 Western Maryland 7 is a Plymouth-built CR-4 In the time between when this video was produced, Walkersville Southern added a 65 tonner and a Long Island 25 tonner to their roster. We just can't keep up.

I must say, I kinda forgot how interesting the roster of diesel engines Walkersville Southern has.
Awesome video! Did you have to hike or drive up the mountain to get any of those shots? What would be the best time of year to come as far as weather goes?
You can drive to the top and bottom of the mountain, otherwise everything else shown requires walking up or down the mountain. The weather at Mount Washington is famously unpredictable, varying even by the minute. Generally you’re fine on the bottom, but the top simply requires luck that the weather stays stable.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the whistle 6988 blew/sported for much of this event a Illinois Central steamboat whistle?
